Strength & power

Strength is the amount of force a player can produce, such as lifting weight or impacting an object.

Power, or explosive strength, is the work done over time—moving weight quickly. Key aspects of strength training for tennis include developing both force and deceleration capabilities, known as eccentric strength, to prevent injury and enhance performance.

This training helps players stop quickly during movements and strokes. As players mature, developing strength and power becomes crucial for competing at higher levels, particularly after major growth periods.
